The City of Ironwood Water and Sewer Department is
responsible for repairs and maintenance of all City of
Ironwood main sanitary sewer lines, water mains and
water services from the main to the curb-stop at the
property line. The Water Department is also responsible
for the street shut-off valve and installing or
disconnecting all water meters. All problems such as
sewer backup, no water, or low pressure should be
reported to the Water Department to determine if the
problem should be corrected by the City or the property
owner. Permits and fees are required before any
authorization is granted to excavate in a City right of
way or City sidewalk.
Payment for water bills can be made at the customer
window between 9:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. at the Memorial
building. After hours payments can also be made in the
drop box at main entry and outside the customer window.
All payments received after 3:30 P.M. will be processed
on the next business day. The number to call concerning

Storm sewers or street problems should be reported to
the Ironwood Department of Public Works (906) 932-3911.
